About Me

If you are feeling confused, anxious and alone and would like some skillful help, you’ve come to the right place.

In a safe, open-minded and creative atmosphere, with the convenience of online therapy, I’d like to meet you on your path towards well being and to help you find your inner-healer. You’re already taking the first courageous step by exploring the offerings of a few therapists.

Having graduated with a masters degree and working for 12 years in acute care and mental health hospitals as a psycho-spiritual therapist, I bring a wealth of experience to this practice.

Personally, I had always wanted to work in the field of psychotherapy but it took me until my midlife readjustment from a career in music editing to follow through with that dream. Having grown up in a family of artists and science-minded healthcare workers, you could say that I have developed a pretty good blend of both the arts and sciences. I hope you will benefit from the eclectic mix of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy and more with our work together.

I look forward to meeting you and connecting in a therapeutic alliance to hopefully make life a little better.

Let’s get started, shall we?

Trauma

Trauma comes about in many forms including sexual, physical and mental abuse. This can be mind altering especially when it happens through the actions or neglect by people we love and trust the most or worldly events that happen completely out of our control.

We will safely and carefully attend to the process of healing these wounds through talk and creative therapies.

Psychedelics

The return of plant-based psychedelics as a healing agent in long over do. The process of taking them as medicine requires some guidance and supportive help. Integration, which is the period of time following the journey on the psychedelic, can be essential for the person to work through their highly personal experience provided by the medicine. I can help with the process of integration.

Please note: psychedelic medicines require a medical doctor’s diagnosis and prescription and its use continues to be restricted under the Controlled Substance Act of Health Canada. For more information please see MAPS Canada website.

Chronic illness

The life altering experience of strokes, or neurodegenerative diseases are challenging to understand and to accept as our new reality. Radical change requires radical acceptance and the process to journey between these extremes takes time and compassion.

Our goal will be to make the journey of understanding with sensitivity and courage.

Addictions

A very complicated struggle. I value the deeply compassionate approach as taught by Gabor Mate. No one chooses to be addicted to whatever they are using, my aim is to hopefully help you find your way free of your addiction.

Depression and Anxiety

These diagnoses are exploding in our post-pandemic society and with good reason. One of the best ways to live with and begin healing these mood disorders and overpowering feelings is by talking to someone. It’s not easy but with patience and the development of self-compassion, we may be able to bring about some change and maybe even some relief.
